History of the College

On September 1, 2015 College of the Sphere of Household Services and Polytechnic College were reorganized by merger into College of the Institute of Service, Tourism and Design (branch of NCFU) in Pyatigorsk.  

The history of Polytechnic College (46 Yermolov str, Build 7) started from January 1941, when Vocational School No. 2 in Stavropol Region was founded to train blacksmiths, turners, carpenters, electricians. In the postwar period, the vocational school was transformed into a professional school for training workers with secondary education.

No less remarkable is the formation of the College of the Sphere of Household Services (31 Moskovskaya str, Build 8). Its history began in 1943 – the year of foundation of the vocational school for preparation of radio operators, telephone operators, telecom operators. 

In 2012, the colleges became part of North Caucasus Federal University. For more than seventy years of their history the colleges have trained more than 65,000 skilled workers and professionals.

Currently, more than 650 people are being trained in the united college of the Institute of Service, Tourism and Design (branch) of NCFU.

The Institute college has modern educational and material base for training specialists of secondary professional education, as well as for organization of recreation and leisure of the students.  The buildings of the college have modern educational and training workshops, classrooms for general education and special subjects, laboratories, technological equipment, a sports hall, a library, four multimedia computer classes.

Employment of the college graduates of the Institute of Service, Tourism and Design

Students are sent for industrial and pre-diploma practice under agreements with specialized companies of the cities of Caucasian Mineral Waters and regions of Stavropol Territory and after that they can continue to work there.
